Come As You Are

Come As You Are is the result of a commitment made by staff, faculty, and administration to writing studies and affordable instruction design. The result is a custom first-year writing text of tailored content that speaks with precision to Pace, Pleasantville’s scaffolded core writing curriculum. In crafting Come As You Are, we have broken with traditional texts that are both expensive and unfocused, a costly one-size-fits-all design that forgoes local content and pedagogy to appeal to a general audience. Come As You Are is a move away from commercial education to programmatic intimacy, as students hear the voices of Pace instructors who, with each word on the page, help to develop and define the writing community found on our quaint Hudson Valley campus.
